MGT Files BOP Rate Increase in Massachusetts

MGT Insurance Company has filed a 13.2% overall rate increase for its Mainstreet Businessowners program in Massachusetts.

The increase affects four policyholders and generates approximately $2,500 in additional written premium on a current premium base of $19,154. Individual policy increases range from 0% to 30%.

The filing also introduces new rating factors and proprietary endorsements, including exclusions related to food and retail delivery operations and psychotropic or synthetic drugs. Other changes address extended business-income coverage, additional insureds, anti-stacking and minimum earned premiums.

Massachusetts regulators placed the filing on file on July 16. The changes take effect September 1, 2026, for new and renewal business.
