Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and Liberty Mutual Personal Insurance Company submitted a filing in New Mexico requesting a personal auto rate increase affecting renewal business.

The filing, submitted March 2, 2026, seeks an overall rate impact of +3% on renewal policies. The changes are scheduled to take effect March 27, 2026 for new business and May 1, 2026 for renewals.

According to the filing, Liberty Mutual calculated an overall rate indication of +4%, but is requesting a smaller implemented increase. The company currently reports approximately $32.7 million in earned premium in the state for the line at the present rate level.

The filing represents a general base rate revision to the personal auto program. Liberty Mutual’s previous rate update in New Mexico took effect August 7, 2025 and carried no overall rate change.
