Lemonade Insurance Company received approval for its latest Tennessee personal auto filing, effective October 22, 2025, for new business and November 22, 2025, for renewals. The filing maintains an overall 0% rate change across 3,346 policies in Tennessee totaling $3.3 million in written premium, following a 13% hike implemented in September.
The approved revision introduces a $50 policy fee, fully earned at inception and justified through fixed administrative costs. It also launches the Lemonade Affinity Discount, applicable to multi-line customers who hold more than one Lemonade policy. Originally flagged by regulators for potentially violating fictitious grouping laws, the rule was revised to tie eligibility to customer behavior and coverage history rather than group affiliation. The filing adds Policy Transfer Rate Stabilization and Rate Capping provisions to ease premium disruption for new and renewing customers.
There is no impact to overall premiums, with individual changes ranging from –45% to +16% depending on underwriting segment and capping adjustments. The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance approved the filing on October 14, 2025, marking Lemonade’s continued effort to refine its multi-policy pricing framework following recent model and tier structure updates in other states.
All in all, Lemonade reported having 84,273 auto policies across all states.
