ASI Select Insurance, part of Progressive, is updating its California homeowners program with new forms and coverage changes across HO3, HO5, and condo policies, effective December 1, 2026, for both new and renewal business.
The update replaces core policy forms and refreshes endorsements and rules, including options like equipment breakdown, buried utility lines, and scheduled personal property. It also introduces bundled offerings tied to home and auto, aligning with Progressive’s multi-product strategy.
Coverage remains largely intact—dwelling, other structures, personal property, and loss of use—but with defined sublimits on items like jewelry, electronics, and business property, along with constraints on cosmetic damage and matching materials. Additional features include utility line protection, ordinance or law coverage, limited pet injury benefits, and fungi-related coverage.
Under the hood, the filing shifts the rating approach to better align with competitors and improve rate-to-risk accuracy, while remaining rate neutral overall (0%). It also adds 12 wildfire mitigation discounts and expands agent binding authority.
The filing is submitted under California’s prior approval framework and is currently in intake.
