The General Updates Nevada Auto Rates

The General is introducing a rate increase to its private passenger auto program in Nevada, with changes set to take effect July 16, 2026 for new business and August 20, 2026 for renewals.

The filing reflects a 3.63% overall rate impact, translating to about $681,000 in additional written premium across a book of roughly 5,235 policyholders and $18.8 million in premium. While modest at the aggregate level, individual policy changes vary widely, ranging from increases of up to 11.4% to decreases of about 10.4%.

The update follows an 11.45% increase from November 2025.

Under the hood, pricing remains segmented by distribution channel, with different base rates across exclusive agents, independent agents, internet, retail, national accounts, and even Walmart-linked business.
