Trustgard Files Virginia Auto Rate Decrease

Trustgard Insurance, part of Grange Insurance, has filed a rate revision for its Virginia private passenger auto program, Virginia PinPoint Auto 3, seeking a modest overall decrease under a file and use filing.

The filing applies to personal auto business in Virginia and requests effective dates of April 4, 2026 for new business and May 4, 2026 for renewals. The overall rate impact is a 0.3% decrease, following a prior rate revision that became effective in late December 2025.

According to the filing, the change would affect 6,099 policyholders and result in an estimated $598,662 reduction in written premium, based on a total in-force premium of roughly $17.1 million for the program.
