Grange Rewards Early Shoppers and Multi-Policy Customers

Grange Insurance is updating its Illinois homeowners program to reward customers who shop early and bundle their auto coverage.

The changes hit Grange’s PinPoint Homeowners program, effective August 26, 2026 for new business and October 10 for renewals. The filing is rate-neutral and covers about 3,720 policyholders and $6.9 million in written premium.

Grange’s revised Advance Quote Discount rewards customers who obtain a homeowners quote at least one day before the effective date, with the benefit shrinking as tenure with Grange grows. Customers in their first year get a 0.85 factor — a 15% discount on most homeowners coverages. It steps down to 13%, 11%, 9%, 7% and 5% through year six, then to 3% and 1%, disappearing once tenure hits eight years. Renters and condo forms are excluded. The incentive is concentrated on acquiring new customers, not retaining established ones.

Grange is also cutting minimum deductibles. All-peril minimums drop on the lower Coverage A tiers — for example, from $2,500 to $1,500 on homes at or below $500,000. The rule keeps its existing multi-policy tie-in: homeowners with a supporting Grange personal auto policy qualify for lower minimums than those without. On homes with $500,001 to $750,000 of Coverage A, the wind/hail minimum is $2,500 with supporting auto versus $5,000 without. Commercial auto doesn’t count as supporting business.

Bottom Line: Grange is pairing a front-loaded acquisition discount with a deductible cut, while keeping home-plus-auto bundling as the stickiness play.
