Trisura Insurance Company has filed for a 47.15% overall rate increase for its pet health insurance program in Idaho, according to a filing submitted on June 26. The revised rates would take effect on August 1, 2026, if approved.
The filing is a resubmission of an earlier proposal after addressing objections raised by the Idaho Department of Insurance. It applies to the insurer’s Odie-branded pet insurance program and affects approximately 84 policyholders representing about $52,585 in written premium.
Trisura said the actuarially indicated rate change is 56.44%, while the requested overall rate impact is 47.15%. Individual policy changes would range from 40% to 77.1%.
The filing also updates the program’s underwriting rules and rating manual. Coverage continues to be available for dogs and cats older than seven weeks, with plan options including annual benefit limits of up to $40,000, deductibles ranging from $50 to $1,000, optional wellness benefits, and an injuries-only policy for pets with certain pre-existing conditions.

Odie has cycled through multiple underwriting partners over the years, including PrimeOne, Clear Blue, Accredited, and now Trisura.
