Effective July 19, 2025, Safeco Insurance Companies implemented new billing fees for personal lines policies in Tennessee. The changes apply to products underwritten by American Economy Insurance Company, First National Insurance Company of America, General Insurance Company of America, Safeco Insurance Company of America, and Safeco Insurance Company of Illinois.

Installment fees are now set at $2 for automatic deduction, $6 for recurring credit card payments, and $6 for other methods such as check or agency sweep. Additional fees include a $10 late fee and a $25 returned bank item fee.

The fee changes apply to multiple product lines, including off-road, non-standard auto, preferred and standard auto, home and landlord protection, motorcycle, umbrella, watercraft, and classic car insurance. According to the filing (LBPM-134497251), the updated fees are intended to reflect actual processing costs, including billing operations, credit card fees, and vendor charges.
