Next Updates GL Program In Florida

Next Insurance submitted two informational filings in Florida to update its General Liability Insurance Program for small and mid-sized businesses.

The updates include a new verbal cancellation endorsement that allows the named insured to cancel coverage by phone, a notable departure from the traditional written notice requirement.

The filings also introduce anti-stacking provisions to clarify liability limits when multiple policies apply to the same claim, revised endorsements that expand coverage for damage to rented premises with specific inclusion of water damage, and updated terrorism risk disclosures in line with federal TRIA requirements.

The verbal cancellation clause is particularly unusual since Florida statute (§627.4133) generally requires written notice from insurers—not insureds—indicating this flexibility stems from the company rather than a regulatory change.
