Independence American Insurance Company has filed a rate and rule update in North Carolina for its pet insurance plans, effective July 1, 2026 for both new and renewal business.

The filing is supported by $12.6 million in in-force premium and includes GLM-driven rating variables such as breed group, age, gender, territory, tenure, deductible, coinsurance, and annual limit. It also references a Healthy Pet Discount for policyholders with no paid claims in the prior 12 months.
