Independence American Insurance Company filed a rate revision in Tennessee for its Figo pet insurance program, with changes scheduled to take effect May 1, 2026, for both new business and renewals. The filing impacts a relatively small book with $708,253 in written premium.

The proposal includes an overall 14% increase for medical coverages and reflects several program changes. Orthopedic conditions will be reclassified from accidents to illnesses, and a new Healthy Pet Discount will be introduced. The company noted that 194 insureds are expected to receive rate increases exceeding 25%.

The updated pricing is supported by a new Generalized Linear Model developed using WTW’s Emblem software. The filing follows a prior rate increase of 5.2% that took effect January 1, 2025.
