Hiscox Updates Entertainment Umbrella Coverage With Exclusions in Massachusetts

Hiscox has introduced new forms for its Entertainment Excess and Umbrella program in Massachusetts, with the filing placed on file and effective February 11, 2026.

The update adds four endorsements that expand exclusions and clarify coverage structure. The new Cyber, Privacy, and Biometric Data exclusion removes coverage for losses arising from cyber incidents, electronic data failures, unauthorized access, or privacy related liabilities, while preserving coverage for resulting bodily injury.

A separate PFAS exclusion eliminates coverage for claims related to the presence, release, or remediation of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances. The filing also introduces a broad Injury Exclusion that removes coverage for injuries to employees, contractors, volunteers, and participants involved in productions, events, or performances.

In addition, a revised Other Insurance endorsement clarifies that the umbrella policy applies on a strictly excess basis and will not contribute with other available coverage, while allowing the policy to act as primary for certain additional insureds when required by contract.

The filing does not include rate changes and applies to both new and renewal business.
