Hiscox Insurance Company has filed for a 4.1% overall rate increase for its direct professional liability program in North Carolina.

The increase would affect 6,623 policyholders and generate approximately $259,000 in additional written premium on a current premium base of $6.3 million. Individual policy increases would range from 0% to 5.6%.

The filing, which amends the program’s base rates, reflects an indicated rate need of 5.2%. Hiscox last revised the program in August 2024, implementing a 5.2% increase.

The changes are expected to take effect September 14, 2026, for new business and January 12, 2027, for renewals.
