AIG Gets Oregon Approval for Firearm Silencer Protection Plan

AIG WarrantyGuard has received Oregon approval for a service contract covering firearm silencers, with New Leaf Service Contracts handling administration, marketing and sales.

Submitted and approved October 15, the Silencer Protection Plan covers labor related to mechanical or electrical failures, including normal wear and tear, once per year up to $150.

The agreement allows AIG WarrantyGuard to repair or replace the product, or provide a monetary settlement, store credit or gift card, subject to its terms. Total benefits cannot exceed the product’s original purchase price. The sample order confirmation lists no deductible.

Eligible products must have a manufacturer or retailer warranty lasting at least 90 days when the agreement is purchased. Failures must be reported within 30 days and before the plan expires.

Exclusions include theft, illegal modifications, used or “as is” products, routine maintenance and cleaning, and failures already covered by another warranty or protection plan.

The filing does not identify a retail partner or disclose pricing or sales projections. The agreement is a service contract, rather than an insurance policy.
