National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa., a subsidiary of AIG, is rolling out a professional liability program for insurance agents and registered representatives through the Financial Services Professional Risk Purchasing Group, which is domiciled in Iowa. The program is being offered through Association Member Benefits Advisor (AMBA) and replaces coverage previously underwritten by Everest.
The filings introduce a new Insurance Agents & Registered Representatives Professional Liability Master Policy and related certificate forms that communicate coverage details such as limits, retention amounts, retroactive dates, and certificate periods to participating members. The master policy and rates are filed in Iowa, while individual states are receiving filings for certificates and related forms.
AIG has submitted the program across multiple states, with approvals or filings completed in Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, and Montana, while filings remain under review in states including Connecticut and Georgia.
In Montana, regulators filed AIG’s rates for use, allowing the company to use new pricing associated with the program.
Not all filings were successful. Massachusetts regulators rejected the submission, stating that the company had not filed the underlying master policy forms in the state and that the Division could not place forms from another jurisdiction on file.
The program provides errors and omissions coverage for insurance agents and registered representatives through the Iowa-based risk purchasing group structure, with National Union Fire Insurance Company serving as the underwriting carrier.
