AIG Updates Connecticut Flood Notice, Seeks Wisconsin Homeowners Rate Increase

AIG submitted two filings affecting its Private Client Group homeowners business. In Connecticut, the insurer is updating its flood insurance disclosure notice, while in Wisconsin it is seeking a homeowners rate increase of 9.9%.

In Connecticut, AIG filed a revised flood insurance disclosure form. The notice is intended to provide homeowners, condominium, and renters policyholders with clear and conspicuous language explaining that flood losses are not covered under standard property policies and that separate flood insurance is available through the National Flood Insurance Program or private insurers. The change carries no impact for existing policyholders and is scheduled to take effect on October 16, 2026, for both new and renewal business.

Separately, AIG filed for a 9.9% rate increase for its Private Client Group homeowners program in Wisconsin, effective October 15, 2026, for new and renewal business. The filing affects 339 policyholders and approximately $3.27 million in written premium, resulting in an estimated premium increase of $323,367. The insurer’s overall indicated rate need is 15.8%, although it is seeking a smaller statewide increase of 9.9%. Individual policy impacts range from 1.2% to 17.1%.

The Wisconsin filing follows AIG’s previous homeowners rate revision, which took effect on May 1, 2023, and increased rates by 23%.
