Accredited Surety and Casualty Company has received approval to nonrenew its Businessowners line in Georgia, impacting 771 in-force policies written exclusively through program administrator Attune Insurance Services. The move transfers the entire book to Insurance Company of the South, a Fortegra company, without re-underwriting, with replacement coverage offered on substantially similar terms.
The Georgia book represents approximately $2.9 million in direct written premium and carries a reported loss ratio of 75.8%. Policyholders will receive nonrenewal notices roughly 95 days ahead of renewal, alongside offers for replacement coverage; overall premiums are expected to increase by about 9 percent, reflecting inflation and higher expenses since the last rate action.
A similar block nonrenewal has also been approved in South Carolina, effective January 26, 2026, affecting 548 policies and $2.36 million in premium, with the book likewise transferring to a Fortegra carrier without re-underwriting.
Accredited said the action does not constitute a full withdrawal from Georgia’s BOP market and that it will continue to honor claims made prior to nonrenewal. The transition reflects Attune’s decision to move the program to a new carrier partner, with Accredited reserving the right to reenter the market through future program opportunities.
