Accredited Surety and Casualty Company filed notice of its intent to substantially exit California’s workers’ compensation market. The filing impacts approximately 3,949 policies and $55.6 million in written premium.

Accredited previously partnered with Atlas General Insurance Services and Appalachian Underwriters, with nonrenewals starting May 1 for Atlas policies and July 1 for Appalachian. The company will continue to handle claims for in-force policies as required. This marks a full exit from the California workers’ comp market, following a phased withdrawal first announced in March 2025.
