Accredited Loses Its BOP Book as Attune Moves the Program to Fortegra

Accredited Surety and Casualty is stepping back from businessowners coverage — and the mechanics here are different from its pet exit.

Accredited is implementing a block nonrenewal of its businessowners (BOP) line nationally, effective May 19, 2026.

The book is written exclusively through program administrator Attune Insurance Services, and the trigger is Attune’s decision, not Accredited’s: Attune has elected to move the entire book to Fortegra company Lyndon Southern Insurance Company. The transfer happens without re-underwriting by either Attune or the new carrier, and affected policyholders get a nonrenewal notice paired with an offer of replacement coverage from Attune via Fortegra.

In Michigan, the move touches roughly 255 in-force policies and about $1.11 million in direct written premium as of December 31, 2025.

Notably, Accredited is careful to frame this as not a market withdrawal. It says the decision to transition the book was Attune’s business call, and it’s reserving the right to re-enter as future program-administration opportunities arise — even requesting a waiver so it doesn’t have to pull its existing form/rate/rule filings.
