Accredited and Cover Whale refresh Florida trucking program filings

Accredited Surety and Casualty Company has filed updated commercial auto forms in Florida for its trucking program administered and underwritten by Cover Whale, replacing prior filings from 2022, 2023, and 2024. The carrier said it currently has no policyholders or written premium in Florida under the program and is seeking a July 25, 2026 effective date.

The filing introduces 13 proprietary forms, including a new telematics device requirement, an unscheduled driver exclusion, cyber and virus exclusions, updated cancellation notices, and revised fraud and material misrepresentation provisions. Two forms — the Service of Suit endorsement and a telematics premium adjustment form — are being withdrawn.

Under the new telematics endorsement, insureds must install approved telematics devices, including dashboard cameras or electronic logging devices, in all covered vehicles within 30 days of policy inception. Failure to install or maintain functioning devices can result in cancellation and a denial of coverage for subsequent losses.

The updated forms also reinforce Cover Whale’s underwriting approach by limiting coverage to scheduled drivers and vehicles only and allowing rescission of policies in cases of material misrepresentation during the underwriting process.
