InsureMax, part of AssuranceAmerica, has filed an average 14% rate decrease for its Georgia Renters Protect program.
The proposal lowers base rates and reduces the pricing factor for customers selecting $5,000 in contents coverage. Individual decreases range from 0.7% to 41.3%, according to the filing, which lists 3,343 policyholders and approximately $673,000 in written premium.

InsureMax says the reductions follow a review of competing renters insurance programs, including Progressive, Spinnaker, Trisura, Lemonade, Allstate and Homesite. The company identified opportunities to improve its competitive position while maintaining adequate rates.
“Our competitive analysis identified opportunities to improve our market position through reductions to the base rates and the $5,000 contents limit factor.”
The filing does not change coverage, underwriting guidelines or policy forms. The program does not use credit information for pricing.
Submitted October 14, the proposal would apply to new and renewal business upon approval.
