AssuranceAmerica Launches Virginia Commercial Auto Program

Catawba Insurance Company, part of AssuranceAmerica, filed a new commercial auto policy program in Virginia. The filing, submitted on March 11, 2026, introduces policy language governing coverage for business auto risks with a requested effective date of May 11, 2026.

The policy provides liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage arising from accidents involving insured vehicles used in business operations, along with coverage for physical damage to insured autos. The contract outlines duties following an accident, requirements for policyholders to report losses, and the insurer’s authority to investigate claims and defend lawsuits.

The policy includes a range of exclusions and operational limitations covering areas such as intentional acts, criminal activity, racing, hazardous materials transport, and certain employee related injuries. It also restricts coverage when vehicles are used in transportation network company activity or while operating within certain motor vehicle businesses.
