Enumclaw Files Idaho Auto Refresh

Mutual of Enumclaw has filed to overhaul its traditional Idaho auto program, adding rating variables and refining segmentation while reducing rates by 2.8% overall.

Submitted October 13, the filing affects 1,106 policyholders representing approximately $1.76 million in written premium. The company requested effective dates of October 23, 2026, for new business and November 17 for renewals.

The proposed rules include mileage obtained from a third-party vendor, with agents able to correct discrepancies, and vehicle attributes such as fuel type, engine displacement, MSRP and body style. The rating plan also considers payment history, education and occupation, and differences between mailing and garaging ZIP codes.

Individual impacts vary substantially. The filing’s rate summary lists changes ranging from an 84.6% decrease to a 166.4% increase. A stabilization rule generally limits company-driven renewal changes to a 10% decrease or 30% increase for the first three renewals, with the remaining impact applied at the fourth.
