USAA subsidiary Garrison Property and Casualty Insurance Company is seeking a 6.9% increase for its California private passenger auto program.
The filing affects 193,472 policyholders and approximately $543.1 million in written premium. If approved, the change would generate an additional $37.5 million in premium.
Garrison indicated that a 16.3% increase is actuarially supported. Individual policy changes would range from a 65.7% decrease to a 203.8% increase, reflecting changes to rating factors and policy characteristics.
The insurer is also revising increased-limit factors for bodily injury, property damage, and medical payments coverage.
The requested effective date is July 29, 2027, for new and renewal business. Garrison’s previous California auto revision was an 8.5% increase effective June 12, 2025.
