Markel has formally notified Virginia regulators of its withdrawal from the Motorcycle and Off-Road Recreational Vehicle Program. According to filing MRKA-134715858, the company began nonrenewing policies effective July 1, 2023, and completed the process by June 30, 2024.

Markel confirmed that no new business will be written under this program and that no new rates were introduced. The move, made in consultation with the Virginia State Corporation Commission, reflects Markel’s ongoing efforts to refine its specialty personal lines portfolio and exit select niche markets.
