SiriusPoint Introduces Enhanced Debris Removal Endorsement in California

SiriusPoint is introducing an update to its inland marine product in California, adding a new endorsement that expands debris removal coverage for motor truck cargo risks.

The endorsement extends coverage to include costs tied to towing, storage, demolition, and debris removal following a covered loss. It also broadens the definition of covered property to include trailers, intermodal containers, and related equipment—areas that were previously less explicit in the policy language.

A key addition is the inclusion of towing within the debris removal extension, along with applicability to trailer interchange exposures. The coverage remains capped at 25% of the underlying loss, with an additional $10,000 available when debris removal costs exceed that threshold.

The endorsement will be mandatory for reporting-form policies and optional for non-reporting policies. There is no additional premium associated with the change, signaling a coverage enhancement rather than a pricing move.
