Branch Insurance Exchange has filed for approval to update rates and rules for its Michigan private passenger auto program, according to a filing submitted on December 31, 2025.
The filing proposes an average 20.4% rate impact, affecting 973 policyholders and approximately $1.27 million in written premium. Branch’s indicated change was higher, at about 29%, but the company selected a lower increase.
The filing also reinforces Branch’s use of verified annual mileage, with premium adjustments based on odometer validation, and incorporates vehicle history factors tied to title issues, damage types, and theft.
Branch outlines a multi step rating formula that blends household level driver risk with vehicle specific characteristics, followed by discounts for factors such as multi car, continuous insurance, paperless billing, and affinity programs.
The company’s prior Michigan auto rate change (+20.5%) took effect in December 2024.
