Kin Adds Auto Bundle Discount To Texas Homeowners Program

Kin Interinsurance Nexus Exchange is introducing an auto bundle discount to its Texas homeowners program, giving owner occupied home policyholders a 10% credit when the named insured also has an active Kin private passenger auto policy. The change is set to take effect on April 16, 2026, for both new business and renewals.

The filing is rate neutral overall, but it adds a clearer cross sell lever as Kin builds out its Texas auto presence. Kin says the discount will apply immediately to in force homeowners policies that already meet the eligibility criteria, which means the move is not just about future sales but also about tightening ties across existing customers.

The Texas homeowners book tied to this filing includes about 19,877 policyholders and nearly $59.8 million in written premium. Kin launched its Texas private passenger auto program in September 2025, and the company notes that the share of homeowners customers currently bundled with a Kin auto policy is still small, so the immediate rate impact is negligible.

Kin framed the filing as a match to Mercury’s approved Texas multi-policy discount, with the same 10% structure. In practice, it gives Kin a more complete home and auto pitch in Texas and signals a push toward deeper household penetration rather than a broad pricing move.
