Farmers Updates Homeowners Payment Fees in New Jersey

Farmers is updating its Home A360 Payment Plans in New Jersey, with fee changes set to take effect August 1, 2025. While the structure of the payment plans remains unchanged, the company is raising several billing-related fees to better reflect operational costs.

The number of active policies under the program has steadily declined—from 63,298 in 2022 to 43,398 in 2024. During the same period, per-policy fees have risen. The installment fee went from $14.36 to $17.93, and the late fee increased from $19.87 to $24.66. Still, total collected fees per policy dropped from $7.18 to $6.01. Farmers says its average billing cost per account is $22.43, citing processing, IT, and postage expenses.

Notable changes include:

  • Return payment fee increasing to $25 (from $15)

  • Paper bill installment fee set at $6

  • New autopay bank fee of $2 per installment

  • New autopay credit card fee of $5 per installment

  • No change to the late payment fee or installment fees on 1-pay plans

This is the first material billing update in over a decade for the Home A360 program. The company says the new structure aligns with its broader Farmers PL platform. No changes to base insurance rates are included in this filing.
