Argo is exiting several older commercial programs in Virginia, pulling back from legacy offerings that have not been updated in years.
The filing removes three programs in full, including an obsolete Division 9 Businessowners program dating back to 2006, a Choice Auto Repair BOP program, and an Insurance Professionals professional liability program.
The move follows discussions with regulators, who flagged the programs as outdated and largely inactive. Supporting correspondence shows the company agreed to withdraw all associated rates, rules, and forms tied to these lines.
Notably, other lines remain active. Commercial auto and workers compensation business tied to the company’s broader portfolio were not included in the withdrawal, indicating the cleanup is targeted rather than a full market exit.
The changes took effect immediately on April 17, 2026, for both new and renewal business.
