Employers Mutual Casualty Company (EMC) has filed to withdraw its CyberSolutions program in California as part of a strategic decision to maintain a sustainable business model in the current market environment. The filing was submitted on February 24, 2026, with the withdrawal scheduled to take effect August 1, 2026 for both new business and renewals.
The program currently covers 593 policyholders and generates approximately $172,538 in written premium, indicating a relatively small but active portfolio. The decision reflects a targeted exit from a segment the carrier no longer views as viable under current market conditions rather than a broad reduction in overall business.
The CyberSolutions product offered a suite of cyber protections, including breach response services, forensic and legal support, customer notification and credit monitoring, public relations assistance, regulatory fines where insurable, business interruption, cyber extortion, misdirected payment fraud, network security liability, electronic media liability, and identity recovery services.
