EMC Introduces PAYG Workers’ Comp Billing in Georgia

EMC submitted a Georgia filing introducing a Pay As You Go billing option for workers’ compensation policies under its commercial direct bill program.

The new option would allow eligible policyholders to make premium payments based on payroll schedules, including weekly, bi weekly, semi monthly, or monthly reporting. Businesses must submit payroll records through EMC’s vendor partner, make electronic payments at the time of payroll remittance, and meet a $1,000 minimum premium requirement. No deposit or invoice fee would apply under the program.

The filing also updates non payment processing and reinstatement rules for Pay As You Go policies. EMC said failure to register or report payroll electronically by the due date would be treated as non payment of premium and could result in cancellation.

The filing applies to EMC Property & Casualty Company, EMCASCO Insurance Company, Employers Mutual Casualty Company, Illinois EMCASCO Insurance Company, and Union Insurance Company of Providence, with a requested effective date of October 1, 2026.
