American Modern Recertifies Oregon Collector Vehicle Program Underwriting Guidelines

American Modern Property and Casualty Insurance Company has submitted a filing in Oregon to recertify the underwriting guidelines for its Collector Vehicle Program. The filing was submitted on March 5, 2026 and is currently pending review.

The submission does not introduce any changes to the program. Instead, it represents a required regulatory recertification of the insurer’s existing underwriting guidelines for the collector vehicle product. According to the filing, the guidelines remain unchanged and continue to govern eligibility, documentation requirements, and underwriting review procedures for collector vehicle risks in Oregon.

The program insures vehicles that are used on a limited basis, such as for exhibitions, club activities, parades, and occasional leisure driving. Vehicles must generally be maintained in good to excellent condition, stored in secure garages when not in use, and insured on an agreed value basis reflecting their collectible status.

Under the guidelines, applicants must typically provide recent photographs of each insured vehicle and documentation supporting valuations when necessary. High value vehicles may require additional documentation or underwriting review, particularly when vehicle values exceed certain thresholds.

The program also includes several optional coverage features, including protection for automobile related collectibles such as signs or gas pumps and inflation protection that can adjust a vehicle’s insured value over time. Temporary coverage may also be available for vehicles traveling outside the policy’s base territory, subject to underwriting approval.

American Modern Property and Casualty Insurance Company is part of the Munich Re group and is headquartered in Amelia, Ohio.
