Old American County Mutual Fire Insurance Company has filed for an 8.5% overall rate increase for its Private Passenger Auto (PPA) program in Texas, effective November 1, 2025, for new business and November 15, 2025, for renewals.
The filing impacts approximately 41,106 policyholders and $24.9 million in written premium, projecting an additional $2.1 million in premium. The program is administered by Fenix General Agency LLC, which manages underwriting and distribution under a Managing General Agency (MGA) structure.
While actuarial analysis indicated a need for an 18.3% increase, Old American opted for a more moderate 8.5% adjustment. Individual policy impacts range from -9.2% to +37.6%, reflecting the program’s targeted recalibration.
The move follows a -8.6% rate decrease implemented in February 2025 and aligns with broader market trends among Texas MGA-driven auto programs seeking to restore rate adequacy amid rising loss costs and inflationary pressures.
