Old American County Mutual is preparing to launch a nonstandard personal auto program in Texas through a new MGA, Novo Insurance.

The carrier submitted an initial forms filing on Sept. 1, with an effective date upon approval. Novo’s MGA license remains pending, and Old American plans to complete the appointment after the license is issued.
The filing includes an application, declarations page and insurance card. Policyholders will be able to access documents through the Novo mobile app.
The application also references an optional safety program under which premiums may change monthly based on driving behavior, including safety scores and mileage. Coverage would exclude driving for rideshare, delivery or other compensated services.
