CNA has filed the earth movement portion of its new Touchstone Property program in California, requesting a January 1, 2027 effective date. The program will replace CNA Signature for large commercial insureds.
Submitted September 29, the filing targets large, complex risks with multiple locations, high property values and large coverage limits. CNA said it is updating the policy structure and forms to align with current market standards, with adjustable limits and deductibles and additional optional coverages.
The transition also changes the underwriting companies. Touchstone will be written through American Casualty Company of Reading, Pennsylvania, National Fire Insurance Company of Hartford, Transportation Insurance Company and Valley Forge Insurance Company. Signature was written through Continental Casualty Company and Continental Insurance Company.
Earth movement rates will remain unchanged, and the rating algorithm will stay the same. CNA said the rules are substantially similar to Signature’s, with the manual reformatted to match the updated policy structure.
Earth movement coverage, including earthquake, will be offered within the broader property policy rather than as standalone coverage. California requires a separate filing for that portion of the program. The filing remains pending.
