CNA Warranty Services Files Furniture Protection Plan In Alabama

CNA Warranty Services secured Alabama approval for a new furniture service contract form covering indoor furniture sold through retailers, including upholstered fabric, microfiber, vinyl, leather, wood, and solid surface furniture, with added protection for certain powered components and electric fireplaces.

The filing, submitted on March 12, 2026 and approved the same day, introduces the Premium Vacation Home Furniture Protection Plan With Power. The five year plan covers accidental damage such as stains, dye transfer, burns, rips, tears, punctures, liquid marks, scratches that penetrate the finish, and accidental glass or mirror breakage. It also covers certain breakdowns and breakage involving motors, mechanisms, wires, switches, handles, and electric fireplace components after the original manufacturer or retailer warranty expires, or 12 months after delivery, whichever is later.

The contract is aimed at new furniture sold directly by furniture retailers and applies to items delivered without existing stains or damage. Claims must be reported within 30 days of discovery and are handled by ProtectAll USA, LLC, which may provide repair advice, products, in home technician service, repair, replacement parts, or replacement furniture.

The filing also sets a maximum liability of the lesser of the repair or replacement cost, the original purchase price of the covered furniture excluding tax and delivery, or $25,000.

The plan includes a long list of exclusions, including transit and delivery damage, mold, mildew, odors, incontinence, pet damage other than bodily fluids, normal wear and tear, pre existing conditions, outdoor furniture, mattresses, rugs, theft, water damage, and claims that are or should be covered by the manufacturer or store warranty. It also excludes losses tied to infectious disease, coronavirus, pandemics, and epidemics.

CNA Warranty Services said the form is part of a program transition project. The company noted the form is also being filed in its domicile state of Arizona, where approval is still pending.
