Central Insurance Company is introducing a new roof-specific coverage rating factor to its Homeowners program in Michigan. The change, effective October 1, 2025, impacts 1,257 policyholders and $2.7 million in written premium, with no overall rate impact.
The update adds a “Limited Loss Settlement on Roof Surfacing” option, offering reduced coverage in exchange for lower premiums on wind and hail losses. The filing also updates manual rules covering endorsements like Assisted Living Care, Canine Liability Exclusion, Earthquake Coverage, and Inflation Guard, among others. This is part of a broader program that includes group-rated policies.
