Arch Insurance Company has filed to introduce a new Parcel Insurance Plan in Connecticut, offering commercial inland marine coverage for packages in transit. The plan provides protection for shipments valued up to $60,000 and is designed to cover damage or loss while the package is in the care, custody, or control of a shipping carrier—from the moment it leaves the seller to its delivery at the buyer’s location.

The filing, effective June 5, 2025, mirrors a previously approved program by American Automobile Insurance Company and adopts the same rating structure. The base rate ranges from $0.10 to $1.60 per $100 of insured value, depending on the shipment’s characteristics. Arch noted that this is a new program for the company in Connecticut and carries no immediate premium impact.

This move marks Arch’s entry into the parcel insurance market in the state, offering a standalone solution that can be integrated into broader shipping workflows for e-commerce businesses, logistics providers, and other commercial shippers.
