United States Liability Insurance Company, part of Berkshire Hathaway, received Nevada approval for a generative artificial intelligence exclusion for its Personal Umbrella product.
The endorsement excludes loss, costs, or expenses arising out of generative AI. It defines the technology as a machine-based learning system or model trained on data that can create content or responses, including text, images, audio, video, or code.
The form applies to USLI’s excess comprehensive personal liability, personal umbrella liability, and excess personal umbrella policies. Its wording does not limit the exclusion to specific uses of generative AI or types of claims.
Nevada approved the filing on October 13, 2026, the day it was submitted. USLI requested effective dates of November 23, 2026, for new business and February 21, 2027, for renewals.
