American Pet Insurance Company is increasing rates for its Trupanion for Chewy Health pet insurance program in Wisconsin.

The 9.6% overall increase affects 379 policyholders and is expected to generate approximately $18,300 in additional annual premium. Individual policy changes will range from a 5.6% decrease to a 48.9% increase.

The filing revises base rates and geographic, breed, age and gender factors. The new rates take effect October 1, 2026, for new and renewing policies.

American Pet Insurance Company implemented a 7.7% increase for the program in October 2025.

Bottom Line: Since June 2025, the Wisconsin book has grown 31% to 379 policies, while written premium has increased 42% to $190,373.
