Trusted Resource Underwriters Exchange of Ohio (TRUE) has filed a new Connecticut homeowners program, targeting a November 1, 2026 effective date and statewide distribution, including coastal areas.
The reciprocal insurer received its Connecticut certificate of authority on December 1, 2025. It plans to write primarily through established direct-to-consumer distribution channels. Its partner discount list names Progressive, GEICO, Comparion, Costco and Goosehead, with eligibility depending on the distribution arrangement and customer relationship.
TRUE’s HO-3 rating plan largely follows Homesite’s Connecticut homeowners program, incorporating adjustments for expenses, coverage options and other rating features. TRUE expects its overall rate level to average 3% below Homesite’s, reflecting a lower expense provision. To compare pricing, it modeled a portfolio of more than 15,000 simulated risks.
The program incorporates CAPE Analytics roof condition and roof complexity data, along with TransUnion’s TrueRisk insurance score. Optional offerings include family cyber, equipment breakdown, service line and fortified roof upgrade coverage, plus an endorsement that limits roof payments for windstorm or hail damage.
