HDI Global to Exit Real Estate E&O Program

HDI Global is exiting its Real Estate Professionals Liability program nationwide following the termination of its Program Administrator Agreement with Gallagher Affinity Insurance Services.

According to filings submitted in California and Rhode Island, the agreement ended “not for cause.” HDI said it has continued administering policies under the surviving terms of the agreement while meeting applicable non-renewal requirements and will now withdraw the program from all states.

Beginning with policies expiring on November 1, 2026, HDI will issue non-renewal notices until the entire book has run off. The insurer said it will continue handling claims under expired, existing, and non-renewed policies through to resolution. The California filing includes a sample notice stating that coverage is being discontinued because “the program has been discontinued.”

The California book consists of 3,356 policies in force, approximately $7.56 million in written premium, and 242 outstanding claims, representing less than 1% market share. Policies are distributed through CRES Insurance Services, part of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services.

In Rhode Island, the program has 154 policies in force, approximately $33,495 in written premium, one outstanding claim, and less than 1% market share.
