Haulers to Exit Georgia Standard Auto

Haulers Insurance Company will stop writing new business in its Georgia Standard Auto program on September 1, 2026, and begin non-renewing existing policies on December 1.

The Shelter Insurance Group carrier cited the investment required to bring the program onto Guidewire InsuranceSuite, alongside the size and performance of the book. The decision affects 172 active Georgia policies, down from 212 when Haulers first notified the state in June.

Haulers will continue offering its Private Passenger Auto Preferred Program. Standard Auto policyholders who qualify for the Preferred program will be automatically converted rather than non-renewed; remaining customers will receive 90 days’ notice, in addition to the legally required 30-day notice before expiration.

The company said claims handling, policy documents and other servicing will continue for the required legal and contractual periods.
