Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (BHSIC) has introduced a new ISO-based general liability program in Idaho, tailored for small business owners. Marketed under the Berxi brand, the “Small Business Liability” product includes proprietary forms, endorsements, and a streamlined application process. The program is set to become effective on May 15, 2025.

Key features include coverage enhancements through endorsements such as Supplemental Business Personal Property Floater Coverage, which protects personal property used in business operations, and Professional Incident Coverage for individuals and facilities. A Total Phthalates Exclusion was also filed, alongside a suite of standard ISO exclusions for lead, asbestos, and cyber-related risks.

BHSIC clarified that this new program does not replace any existing ISO-based GL offerings currently on file. It is designed to meet the unique needs of small businesses with options for professional liability, business personal property, and general liability coverage. All coverage terms, including optional limits and exclusions, are outlined in a newly filed declarations page and application form.
