Westchester Fire Insurance Company has filed revisions to its Pet Health Insurance Program, branded as Healthy Paws 3.0, in Rhode Island. The filing, submitted on October 1, 2025, takes effect upon regulatory approval for both new and renewal business and introduces several updates to improve flexibility and customer choice.
The filing adds three new optional endorsements and a revised Declarations Page. The Continuity of Care Coverage Endorsement provides limited coverage for pre-existing conditions under a prior plan. The Pre-Existing Condition Cure Provision Endorsement removes pre-existing condition limitations if the pet has been treatment-free for 365 consecutive days for a curable condition. The Annual Policy Limit Endorsement allows policyholders to purchase annual coverage limits instead of the default unlimited lifetime limit. The updated Declarations Page (LD-50811) incorporates a new field for annual limits and features a simplified format to ease system implementation.
The policy includes fields for Coinsurance, Reimbursement, Annual Deductible, Annual Policy Limit, and Monthly Premium. While the filing carries no rate impact, pricing factors for the Annual Policy Limit Endorsement were previously approved under SERFF ACEH-131576519. The updates continue WFI’s focus on offering customizable coverage options under the Pet Insurance Plans line within Commercial Inland Marine.
A similar filing was submitted in other states.
