Travelers has received approval for a 3% overall rate increase for its Quantum Home 2.0 homeowners program in South Dakota.
The filing covers 4,232 policyholders and approximately $9.5 million in written premium, resulting in an estimated premium increase of $284,293. Travelers’ indicated rate need was 16.8%, while individual policy changes may range from a 12.8% decrease to a 111% increase.
Changes by policy form are as follows:
- Dwelling: 3%
- Tenant: 0%
- Condo: 3%
- Landlord dwelling: 3.1%
- Landlord condo: 3.1%
Travelers is also introducing provisions for retained catastrophe risk and the net cost of reinsurance, revising loss assessment and expense rates, and updating its catastrophe modeling methodology.
The changes take effect Oct. 23, 2026, for new business and Dec. 12, 2026, for renewals.
