QBE Files 15% Rate Increase for Georgia Lawyers Professional Liability Program

QBE Insurance Corporation has filed for a 15% overall rate increase for its Lawyers Professional Liability (LPL) program in Georgia, effective December 5, 2025. The change impacts 329 policyholders and approximately $2.8 million in written premium.

The adjustment follows an indicated need for a 27.6% increase based on state-specific data, but QBE selected a more moderate change to balance rate adequacy with market competitiveness. Updated base rates are set at $1,487 for the metro counties of Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett, and $1,264 for the remainder of the state.

The filing also revises the Schedule Rating plan to allow a maximum credit or debit of ±15%. While the LawyerGuard program includes cyber liability coverage, cyber premiums remain unaffected. This marks QBE’s first LPL rate adjustment in Georgia since 2024.
