QBE Discloses $132M Procurement Spend; IT Vendors Dominate

QBE North America disclosed $132.2 million in procurement spending across roughly 370 suppliers in its 2024 Illinois Insurance Supplier Diversity Report, filed with the Illinois Department of Insurance.

The largest vendor was Sedgwick Claims Management Services, which received $10.2 million for third party claims administration. Other high spend partners included Insurance Services Office (ISO) ($8.8M), Mphasis ($8.2M), XDuce ($7.3M), and Majesco ($6.7M).

A notable takeaway from the filing is that technology vendors dominate QBE’s procurement spend, with companies such as Guidewire, Capgemini, Navitas Partners, and AT&T supporting core systems, IT consulting, infrastructure, and telecom services.

On the claims side, QBE relies on specialist vendors including Hartford Steam Boiler ($4.2M) for equipment breakdown services, Ryze Claim Solutions ($2.5M) for catastrophe claims management, and J.S. Held and MKA International for forensic and engineering consulting.

The filing also notes that QBE North America does not currently operate a formal supplier diversity program, and none of the top vendors in the report carry diversity designations based on Dun & Bradstreet data.
